1. Do Plasútil products contain Bisphenol-A (BPA)?

All Plasútil products are BPA free. Bisphenol-A (BPA) is a chemical substance used in the manufacture of some types of plastics, such as epoxy resins and polycarbonate that, with changes in temperature, can be transferred to food and cause health risks. This type of plastic can be found in sunglasses, CD’s and finishes of some electrical appliances.

2. What is the composition of Plasútil products that store food?

Plasútil products that store food are produced in polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) and PET, non-toxic materials that are not harmful to health. Those resins are approved for freezing, heating and room temperature conditions.

3. Can Plasútil containers be taken to the freezer?

Yes. Plastic products can tolerate up to -10 degrees Celsius (ºC), but it’s necessary to take care with possible chock or hitting when removing the product from the freezer. Low temperature reduces impact resistance. It is recommended that after removal, the container must be placed under running water for a few minutes. In this way, the properties of the plastic will return to their normal state.

4. Which foods should not be microwaved in plastic containers?

Avoid preparing foods that contain a high fat content (meat with apparent fat, breaded meats and foods with red sauce, for example) or sugar (chocolate, caramel sauce, for example). They may reach high temperatures, above 212F (110 degrees Celsius), causing damage to the product, such as melting.

5. Can the glasses and cups also be used to heat liquids in the microwave?

Yes, they can also be used to heat or prepare liquids. However, it is still necessary that foods with high in fat or sugar be avoided.

6. Can containers, glasses or mugs go with the lids on the product in the microwave?

No, when placed in the microwave, Plasútil containers, glasses or mugs must have the lid off the top of the product. It is necessary that the air exit be facilitated to avoid splashing inside the oven and damage the product.

The containers should be washed with neutral soap and a soft sponge. The abrasive surface of the sponge can damage the shine and appearance of the product.

8. Is it possible to heat the Plasútil containers in the microwave?

Containers made of polypropylene (PP) are suitable for microwave use (always with the lid open). Containers made of PET or polystyrene/crystal (PS) should not be used in the microwave, as they may deform and be damaged.

9. Is it possible to wash the Plasútil containers in the dishwasher?

Polypropylene (PP) containers WITHOUT decoration can be washed in the dishwasher as long as they are far from the heating element of the machine.

Polypropylene (PP) containers WITH decoration, containers made of PET or polystyrene/crystal (PS) should not be washed in the dishwasher. They must be washed by hand.

10. How to remove product labels?

Labels should be removed with the fingertips, gently. Because they are developed with special material, the adhesive leaves no traces upon removal, guaranteeing the quality of the product.

11. How to prevent the products from being broken?

The initials MPR means “Recovered Raw Material”. Plasútil products made with RRM (MPR) use the concept of sustainability and quality and only use leftovers from their own production. Controlling the origin, we guarantee a product without contamination.

14. What is ECO?

Products with the Eco seal are items made from 100% recovered raw material. Made from plastic materials that would go to waste, but which go through a meticulous process of selection and cleaning and are transformed into new and more sustainable products.

15. What is UV Protection?

This protection inhibits the degradation of the plastic caused by the action of the sun’s rays, such as the loss of brightness and color, providing twice the durability of the products. UV protection is mainly present in Plasútil furniture.

16. What is Antibacterial Protection / Microorganism Protection?

Antibacterial protection is an additive used in the manufacture of the product to inhibit the development of bacteria and molds in the plastic during its useful life.
